Get to the Point (2023)

Materials & Techniques:  Rift Sawn White Oak (Solid Wood & Plywood), Peruvian Walnut, Chrome, Aluminum Knob.

Get to the Point is a lamp design I created that consists of an asymmetric sculpture-like base with an aluminum turn knob switch. The name is a play on words about the top point of the sculpture. This piece was both fun and challenging to make! The main portion of the base is a 90-degree corner protruding up from the floor. The pointed sculptural element is cut to nest firmly onto the base. The asymmetry of the lamp and chrome light post required a custom shade to be made to properly center the shade over the structure.

The Get to the Point lamp represents the finest craftsmanship, heirloom quality, and forward thinking design of custom lamps made in Oklahoma City. No paint, stain, or dye was used in the creation of this piece. A clear coat finish was applied to preserve the natural wood tones and textures.
