Crescent Bar Table (2015)
Materials & Techniques: Cherry, Sapele, Walnut, Purple Heart, Glass.
The Crescent Bar Table was originally created along with my Ambient Wave Table to compliment my Ambient Wave Credenza which was staged in a room of the 2015 Symphony Show Home by local Oklahoma City designer, Travis Neely. The event is an annual charitable fundraiser that allows local designers to display their talent while helping raise money for the Oklahoma City Philharmonic’s Music Education Programs. This event allowed me to showcase custom furniture designed and made in Oklahoma.
The Crescent Bar Table features wood species that match my Ambient Wave Credenza. The table was used in the theater room of the Symphony Show Home as a bar height seating area behind 3 theater style reclining chairs to create a tiered seating effect. The table consists of 4 vertical legs with 3 panel frames capped by a curved crescent glass top. It was important to me that the structure be able to easily disassemble for transport and movement due to its large size. To achieve this end, I employed bedrail hardware on the 3 frames allowing them to lock tightly into the legs and be removable without tools.
The Crescent Bar Table represents the finest craftsmanship, heirloom quality, and forward thinking design of custom furniture made in Oklahoma City. No paint, stain, or dye was used in the creation of this piece. A clear coat finish was applied to preserve the natural wood tones and textures.
Dimensions: 100-1/4” wide, 18” deep, 41-3/4” tall with 3/8” thick glass
