Bolton Writing Desk (2023)

Materials & Techniques: Peruvian Walnut (Solid Wood & Veneer), Hard Maple (Solid Wood & Veneer)

The Bolton Writing Desk was commissioned by a private client to serve as a workspace in their home office.

The end panel on the desk serves a dual function as a decorative element and a semi opaque privacy screen.  The design makes use of a repetitive pattern where the beginning angle in the lower left hand corner is perpendicular to the face plane of the leg and each successive iteration is laid over by 5 degrees.  The result is an optical illusion that provides movement as you pass the desk and creates a completely unique view of the end panel from various vantage points.

The top surface features a curly maple veneer set inside of a Peruvian walnut frame.

The Bolton Writing Desk represents the finest craftsmanship, heirloom quality, and forward thinking design of custom furniture made in Oklahoma City. No paint, stain, or dye was used in the creation of this piece. A clear coat finish was applied to preserve the natural wood tones and textures.
