Materials & Techniques: Cherry, Sapele, Walnut, Purple Heart, Hard Maple, American Made Maple Veneer Core Plywood. 

The Ambient Wave Credenza invites one to touch its flowing wave panels. The panels were created by laying thin material up at a bevel to the face, laminating it, and sculpting it, resulting in a face that is not only 3-dimensional and smooth to the touch, but where the individual lines of wood vary in thickness as they undulate across the surface. No paint, stain, or dye was used in the creation of this piece. A clear coat finish was applied to preserve the natural wood tones and textures.

The doors feature a mitered bridle joint, an elegant detail that only becomes visible when they are opened. Once the doors are opened the interior boasts a central drawer bank with drawers that feature half-blind dovetail joints and flush hardware that retracts when depressed to expose a finger pull. The drawer bank is flanked by adjustable shelves.

The Ambient Wave Credenza has textured panels on all sides, including the back, so that it can be observed in the round. When I was creating this piece, I envisioned it sitting in the entry foyer of a luxurious home with twin palatial curved staircases. I wanted this piece to be able to stand alone in a room as a work of art!
